Nature and purpose

The Italian Internet Provider Association (AIIP) was established in 1995, at the dawn of the appearance of the Internet in Italy, with the aim of protecting the interests and guaranteeing the rights of Users and Operators.

AIIP gathers the most relevant small and medium-sized operators, most of which operate at a territorial and regional level, thus being able to provide flexible connectivity solutions also in areas characterised by digital divide.

AIIP allows its member Internet Service Providers a continuous update on the most relevant topics of the sector, a support on the deadlines of the numerous and demanding fulfilments that characterize this kind of activity, a valuable comparison among colleagues on the most interesting business opportunities and, last but not least, an adequate representation at the most influential authorities of the sector.

AIIP has always fought for the maintenance of a free Internet and for the safeguard of the fundamental interests of those Operators who represent a relevant presence in the entrepreneurial fabric of Italian Internet Service Providers.
